What we do with your details

Who we are. This site is run by volunteers in Houston for SHARE International, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Funds raised go to construction of the SHARE Orphanage & Multitech Center.

What we collect. Your email address, and your phone number if you give us one. If you donate or sponsor a room we also keep your name and, where you provide it, a postal address so SHARE International can send your receipt. If you place a leading bid near the close of the auction we also ask for a card — that is held by our payment provider, and we only ever see the last four digits.

What we send you. A code to verify it is you, alerts when you are outbid, a reminder when an item you are leading is closing, and the result. Nothing else. We do not send fundraising appeals or marketing to bidders on this system.

Stopping messages. Email us at info@shareorphanage.org and we will stop immediately. If you receive text messages from us, reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.

Who else sees it. Nobody outside the campaign. We do not sell or rent your details. If you donate or sponsor a room, your name, email and the amount go to SHARE International, because they hold the funds and issue your tax acknowledgment. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, and messages are sent through our messaging provider — they only receive what is needed to deliver them.

On the site. Other bidders see only initials — "S. R." — never your name, email or number.

Removing your details. Email info@shareorphanage.org and we will delete them, except where a record of a completed donation must be kept for the charity's accounts.
